This week Pre-k -1 learned vocabulary for identifying their feelings and the feelings of others. They practiced what each emotion looked like as a group through an acting game. Students were asked to pick an emotion from our list of emotions and act out the emotion for their peers to identify. This gave students practice in identifying emotions of others and lead into a conversation about empathy and helping others.  Students shared cooping skills for various emotions and discussed situations in which they may be able to help a friend in need.
Grades 2-6 reviewed feelings vocabulary before working in teams to complete an Empathy activity. Each group was given situations and asked to work as a team to identify the emotion or in some cases emotion(s) that aligned with the scenario. Students then reflected on empathy skills and worked as a team to role play scenarios in which they could practice utilizing skills they discussed.
